With over 2 million people in a 50 mile radius of the county and interstate access to the county, some recent success has been found by farmers in the area of direct marketing.  A bustling farmer's market can be found on the Courthouse lawn on Saturday mornings.  The annual Henry County Harvest Showcase is held the fourth Saturday in July.  During this unique event hundreds of local farmers and craftspeople show off their best to thousands of participants.

Urban people looking to escape the bustle are finding happiness in our rural countryside.  The diverse landscape of the country is conductive to many outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, Sunday afternoon drives, and boating on the Kentucky River and Lake Jericho.  The country is home to many horse enthusiasts who find the forage base and access to quality hay and feed a great asset to their hobby or horse business.

Henry County is home to several notable agricultural enterprises.  Two worth mentioning are the Smith Berry Vineyard & Winery and Creekstone Farms Premium Beef.  The Winery located at 855 Drennon Road is a working multigenerational family farm.  The tasting room and Amyx Art Gallery are open Tuesday - Saturday, 10-6 p.m.  Creekstone Farms is an international company, whose farm division occupies over 1000 of the country's most beautiful rolling acres.  You can find Creekstone Premium Beef in groceries and at famous steak houses like Ruth Chris and even at the 2004 Olympics in Hong Kong.  Creekstone Farms touts that the difference in their product is in the marbling genetics, much of which are developed through breeding at the Henry County farm.

Active organizations including the Henry County Cattleman's Association, the Boer Goat Association, Community Farm Alliance, Farm Bureau, 4H Clubs, and Farmer's Market Association make Henry County a leader in state and national agriculture.  Sales like the Boer Goat Futurity sale in the spring and the premier heifer sale in February bring in buyers from around the region.
